5-The hero was a really great hero

''If it was the demon world where there was an absolute existence called the Sixth King-sama, the demon race that suddenly appeared was a tremendous threat to the human world at that time. In the blink of an eye, the demon king's army dropped the surrounding countries and declared war on the human race, calling themselves the demon king. And so the long war between the human race and the demon king's army began.
Incidentally, the Dark Lord deeply apologized at the treaty of friendship for what happened at that time, saying that he should have taken care of it himself. Even after a thousand years, the outrageousness of the Demon King is still unforgivable, as he acted extremely selfishly while receiving the mercy of the kindness of the Dark Lord, and even made the Dark Lord bow down to him.
Uh, um, Mr. Luna Maria?

''In the first place, the exalted Dark Lord would apologize for something like a trash bug.......but that's still the Dark Lord! The capacity to bow to lowly mortals, the grace to admit fault... it's the man of kings...
Luna, Luna!
'What? And I'm sorry.

Lilia-san admonishes Lunamaria-san, who starts to speak as if some kind of switch has obviously been flipped. Then she looks at us in surprise and explains, letting out a sigh.

'Luna seems to have met the Dark Lord-sama once before, and she's been fanatically adoring him ever since. Please be careful, everyone. If you bypass Luna and shake the story of the Dark Lord, it will take a few hours.
''If it were possible, I would have wanted to serve the Dark Lord instead of being such a dead end...''
Well Luna, I'm sure I'll give you a couple of blows afterwards.

Don't talk to Lunamaria about the Dark Lord. Okay, I learned. It's true, Lunamaria-san's eyes earlier were bad. I'd say she was completely tripped, or maybe the word "fanatic" really seemed to fit.
Really, Lilia-san must be having a hard time........

Let's get back to the point. That invasion of the human world by the Demon King's army actually troubled the Sixth King.
""What?"

I didn't understand the meaning of Lilia-san's words right away. Because from what I heard earlier, the Sixth King should have the power to easily defeat the Demon King's army. And yet, to say that you're bothering your head.......wait. It's true that there's something that's a bit tricky. Why did they need a brave man when the Sixth King is here?

''As I mentioned earlier, in the beginning, the Demon King's Army was neither famous nor feared in the Demon World. Therefore, the news of the Demon King's Army's invasion of the human world came to the Sixth King's ears quite late. At that time, the Sixth King couldn't get rid of the Demon King's Army without a second thought.
Well the price for being a noninterventionist is going to come back to haunt you.
What's that supposed to mean, senior?

It seems that Kusunoki-san has understood what Lilia-san is trying to say, but Yuzuki-san and I still don't understand. It's a good thing that you're not the only one who has a problem with this.
Hearing Yuzuki-san's questioning words, Kusunoki-san opens her mouth while turning her face to Yuzuki-san.

''At that time, the demon world was non-interfering with the human world. In other words, there was no pipe to negotiate with the human world....to convey that there was no hostility to us.
'Oh, oh! So that's what you're saying!
'I see you've noticed it too, Miyama-san. Probably that's the correct answer.

Yes, I finally understood the part that was trapped. Even though the Sixth King had the power to defeat the Demon King, he didn't have the means to negotiate to show that he didn't have any hostility towards the human race after defeating the Demon King.
If the Sixth King were to annihilate the Demon King's army in the blink of an eye with such a situation, what would the human race think when they saw it? The answer is simple: 'A demon tribe far more powerful than the Demon King has attacked' and it looks like that.

' -- A threat far greater than the Demon King is attacking. The human race will be wielding swords to the death. If that happens, it will no longer be a matter of the Demon King's invasion of the human world. An all-out war between the demon world and the human world... or even worse, if the Sixth King, the pinnacle of the demon world, got involved in the invasion of the human world, the divine world, which had been keeping a watchful eye on the situation, would make a move, and in the worst case scenario, a great war involving all three worlds would break out. That's why the Sixth King-sama couldn't bring his hand down on the Demon King.

Lilia-san speaks in a heavy tone, taking over the explanation from Kusunoki-san on the way. Yes, perhaps that's what the Sixth King was afraid of. If it's only the human world, it's still good. In the worst case, if the Sixth King made a ruthless decision, he might have been able to conquer the human world by force in order to keep the war from spreading to the demon world.
However, if the divine world moved in, that wouldn't be enough. Once in ancient times, the demon world and the divine world went to war with each other. If that lore is true, then the power of the demon world and the divine world are at odds with each other to some extent. If that were to happen, the war would surely spread to the demon world as well, and the Sixth King wanted to avoid that.

''A great war involving the three worlds. A hero who could sit at the negotiating table with the demon world.......
''That's........the first hero.......''
''That's right. There are many theories about the summoning of the first hero-sama. The Creator God, who feared a great war, gave the human race a magic circle in the form of an oracle to summon them. The Sixth King requested cooperation from the divine world in secret. From the beginning, there was a magic circle of unknown use in the human world, and there were legends about it... There are no clear records left because the human world was confused at the time, but a hero summoned a hero in the Kingdom of Symphonia.

This is where the First Brave Man comes in. Hmmm, I wonder what kind of person the first brave man was? I'm sure you're from the same world as us, but I don't know if you're male or female, Japanese or not....

I've heard that the First Brave Warrior's journey was an extremely tough one. He traveled through the chaotic human world of that time, saved many people, gathered friends to fight alongside him, and defeated the Demon King in a fierce battle.

That's a true royal story, but in reality, I think it was really hard work. I'm sure they were just like us now, struggling to keep up with the situation at first, and they couldn't teach the differences between them and Earth as easily then as they can now.
I think it's absolutely impossible for me to be sent alone to a truly unknown place and take on a powerful enemy for the sake of the people of this world while fumbling for information.

The defeat of the Demon King by the first hero-sama. I heard that the Sixth King-sama acted very quickly from there. He immediately explained the situation to the First Hero-sama, and all the Sixth King-sama exterminated the remnants of the Demon King's army in the blink of an eye. With the help of the First Brave Master, he apologized to the human race and showed them that he had no intention of war, so the war did not develop into one.
But that doesn't mean there were no hard feelings left, does it?
''Yes, as Aoi-san said, at that time, the truce and inviolable ordinance that tied the human and demon worlds together, so to speak. Even though we defeated the Demon King, it seems that the human world was still very tired and exhausted.

That's to be expected. Even though I defeated the Demon King, that doesn't mean everything will be back to normal. In fact, the human race's impression of the demon race is still in a bad state.

However, First Brave Master didn't stop there. When First Brave Master heard about the situation from the Sixth King, he realized that the biggest reason for the incident with the Demon King was the three worlds' non-interference in the matter, and he rallied himself to prevent the same thing from happening again.
....
First of all, the First Brave Master persuaded the Sixth King to cooperate with the human world, which was exhausted by the abundant food and goods in the demon world, and then he went to the divine world to negotiate with the gods. Naturally, it was not an easy task, and problems arose here and there due to the differences in races. However, the first hero-sama never gave up. He traveled all over the place and spun words to the point that their throats split open... "Even I, who came from a completely different world, could understand. He continued to appeal more desperately than anyone else, saying, 'I have come to love this world with all my heart.

How strong was the first brave man really? Without a doubt, you couldn't get a rogue's approval at the beginning, but continuing to negotiate without giving up or giving in, that must have been a much harder and steeper path than fighting the Demon King.

The number of supporters of the original heroes has been increasing little by little. Gates were built all over the place, and there were more and more opportunities for people from the three worlds to come and go. The dream of peace that the First Man of Valour spoke of turned into the future that many of us desired. After nine years, the place where the First Brave defeated the Demon King, the place where another battle of the First Brave had begun, the kings of the human world, the six kings of the demon world, and the creator god of the divine world - the three worlds' The apexes gathered and a treaty of friendship between the three worlds was signed in the presence of the first brave master.
...wow.

As Yuzuki-san unintentionally muttered, it really was an epic story like a fairy tale. But in this world, it's not a fairy tale, it's an actual event that happened. That's why the first brave man is still a hero to be admired even now.

The first brave man's battle is over. And in the land where the friendship treaty was signed, the three worlds cooperated to create a single city. The name of the city - 'Hikari', the city where the main festival of the heroic festival named after the first hero is held.

...yes? Hikari? If it's named after the first brave, then the first brave was - a woman?

''And since then, the festival to honor the great heroes, held once every ten years according to the years of the first hero's journey, is called the Hero's Festival. It's a long story. Do you have any questions?
''........and what happened to the first brave man after that?

Exhaling quietly, Lilia-san concludes her story. After a few moments of silence, I raised my hand in a reserved manner to voice my question.
After listening to what you just said, I understand why the first brave man is being honored. Rightly, the first brave man is a symbol of peace in this world and an unmistakable hero.
He faced difficulties and accomplished them without breaking--what did the brave man do after his accomplishment? That was the honest question.

''Well I don't know the details. After the friendship treaty was exchanged, the First Hero-sama suddenly disappeared from the public stage. Later, a monument with the sword the First Brave used and a stone carved with a summoning magic circle was discovered on a hilltop near the place where the treaty of friendship was signed. On the back of the monument, the handwriting of the First Brave Master was inscribed with the following.

Saying that, Lilia-san reads out the words that the first brave man carved on the stone monument, as if she had memorized them.

''My battle as a brave man is over. I am truly glad to have come to this world. There were people who encouraged me. There were people who supported me. There were people who supported me. That's why I was able to do my best. I didn't achieve this because I was called to be a hero. The three worlds were connected because each and every one of the people living in this world stepped forward with courage. I am not the only one who is brave. Everyone living in this world is a great brave person - so I'm sure we'll be fine in the future. I love this world--I love this world. I hope it will always be a peaceful world full of smiles - Kujou Hikari.

''........The sword and stone monument of the first brave master had an extremely strong state preservation spell on it, and it still remains in the same condition as it was back then.''
''........Did the original hero return to his original world?''
I don't know. Some say that the first hero-sama returned to the original world as it was, while others say that he remained in this world. However, the information that has been uncovered in recent years, but it is said that the Dark Lord is the only one who may know the truth.

The first brave man who accomplished the feat and then disappeared without a trace. It really is a legend like a fairy tale. However, I'm not sure what's called state-preserving magic, but Lilia-san's manner of speaking seems to have found some additional information.

'About 200 years ago, a hidden passage was found at the back of the cave where the First Hero-sama is said to have stopped by, and a memoir that looks like the First Hero-sama's belongings and a letter were discovered there. There was no strong state preservation magic here, and the memoir was weathered and cannot be read, but part of the letter, written in otherworldly characters, has been deciphered by the heroes who were invited to the heroic festival.

Saying that, Lilia-san places a sheet of paper on the table. It seemed to be a copy of a letter, and although the letters were faded in places.......it contained words of thanks and farewell to the Dark Lord in Japanese.

''Although the Dark Lord refuses to answer about the first hero-sama's afterwards, saying that he can't talk about the first hero-sama's promise to himself, but I have information that the first hero-sama agreed with the first hero-sama's idea and that the Dark Lord helped the first hero-sama a lot when he went to various places.... It is said that it was the Dark Lord who cast a state-preserving spell when he left the sword and the stone monument.
Okay.

Much of what happened to the first brave man remains shrouded in mystery after all... but I understand why brave men are celebrated so much in this world. I'm sure he had a strong heart, so much so that he was convinced of the difference in treatment between him and the demon king.

Dear Mother and Father--there are still many things I don't know about the other world. But - the brave man was truly a great hero.
