19-Episode 17: Sage, Creates the Devil

"And I thought I was going to die...

Varal emerged from the bushes, using his sword as a staff.
He flew it quite far, but it seems to be safe.
The armor absorbed the impact, but the fact that he was training his body probably paid off.
Dying--even though the word "dying"--was a very loud word, a hefty smile appeared on his face.

 Then, he fell forward.

When I looked, my eyes were rolling around.
Apparently, he had reached his limit.
You did a good job, Varal-kun.

I couldn't help but join hands with him.

'How do you like it, Priest Remsen? I think my son has enough ability to enter the Adventurer's School, but........

After confirming that his fallen former subordinate was conscious, Luxor turned around.

The priest, as it turned out, was shaking in some way.
 His face had turned blue.
 Hmm? Something doesn't look right.
The face I had been pointing at the fallen Verral is raised with a bang.

Eventually, he points a finger at me.

'It's a demon! This [villager] has a demon inhabiting it!

 Huh? Demons?

 What delirium, you priest!

'Priest Remsen. With all due respect, sir, I don't think you should call my child a demon--

Shut up!

 He kicked off Luxor's rebuttal.

''Even defeating a knight with semi-B rank power is surprising, but [villagers] use magic...''

'I can see why you would be surprised. But I'm sure I've explained it to you beforehand.

Fool! Isn't it normal to think of it as the worldly ramblings of a country aristocrat?

 Hey, hey.........
Even though he's a country nobleman, Luxol is a fine nobleman.
No matter how much of a priest he is, as expected, his words would be too much.

While Remsen furiously denounced me as a 'devil', Luxor was terribly calm.

''It's up to you to think so. However, my son can actually use magic. It's not right to denounce it with a single word that a "demon" has taken up residence. Rather, isn't this a matter that should be called a 'miracle' of God?

There should be no such thing as a [villager] using magic!

 I see.

Remsen seems to be a general [villager] racist - a person who can be said to be at the forefront of this.
They are called "priests" and they teach "equality before God".
On the other hand, those who don't follow their teachings are excluded and screened out as infidels.
I suppose this priest is one of those very ordinary (i.e., I'm not sure if he's one of those ordinary (i.e., I'm not sure if he's one of those ordinary (i.e., I'm not sure if he's one of those ordinary (i.e., I'm not one of those ordinary (i.e., I'm not one of those ordinary (i.e., I'm not one of those ordinary (i.e., I'm not one of those ordinary (i.e., I'm not one of those ordinary (i.e., I'm not one of those ordinary (i.e., I'm not one of those ordinary (i.e., I'm not one of those ordinary (i.e., I'm not one of those ordinary (i.e., I'm not one of those ordinary)))) people.

Remsen sniffed his nose with a sniff.
It was a gesture he had made when he came to the estate.

'It smells. This territory smells like a demon. Luxor-san......... You are going to be okay, aren't you? If the child is the devil, aren't you also the devil?

With bloodshot eyes wide open, Remsen takes a bite out of Luxol.

As expected, Luxol is at his limit.
A blue streak appeared on his temples and his face flushed.

''You are--''

Father, please wait.

I stopped Luxol's hand from almost hitting him.
I stepped forward and stepped in front of Priest Remsen.

'Please, priest, please give me - no, please give me a chance to explain myself.

In defense of...

'Yes, sir. If you are convinced of my defence, I would like you to prove to me, by the priest, that this one is not 'the devil.'

Well...... You seem so confident, boy--no, demon possession.

You are very thorough, you priest (bladder).

"I don't easily change my opinion, because I have a belief that you are the devil. Because I have a belief that you are the devil.

 The language is so absurd.
Why don't you start with early childhood education in a monastery?

 ◆◇◇◇◇◇

I was walking through the forest with Luxor, Remsen, and the awakened Varal.
The destination was the example cave at the back.
In other words, we were headed to the place where the demonic beasts were being tested.

Even though I don't know what they're going to do to me now, Remsen looks calm and collected.
However, he was occasionally fiddling with the protective markings that he hung from his neck.
Mumbling, he said a prayer to the hollow.

''If something happens, Lord Varal. I hope you will feel free to slay these men.''

I'm sorry to hear that, but.... High Priest, I find it hard to believe that Mr. Racel is possessed by a demon.

Verlal is on this side too.
He's been taken care of by Luxor, but he feels his way around.
He seems to be a bit refracted in some ways, but generally seems to be a true human being.
 The funny thing is Remsen's.

We entered a cave that had been turned into a dungeon.
Immediately, the demonic beasts began to make a commotion.
They touched or struck the [Warding] that I put up and let out a howl.

Seeing the numerous demonic beasts that appeared, Remsen also called out.

''Oh! Horrible. Behold! It's like the devil's own country!

I guess it's just a den of hexenbiest, though.

 Varrar scratches his head, boringly.

Beside me, Luxor whispers in my ear.

'What do you want, Racel? Show me this stuff. It's rather counterproductive, isn't it?'

Don't worry, father. I have yet to explain myself to you.

?

 I activate my magic.
 [Blacksmith (Blacksmith)] [Synthesis].

 Radiance overflows.
It reached every corner of the cave and the demonic beasts were bathed in light.
One after another, they disappear into the light.
Once converted into magical elements, the magical beasts gathered at my hand.

 It was terribly beautiful.

 Huge seven-colored lights converged.
In fact, there were 666 monsters' magical elements.
Most of them in the cave had turned into a mass of magical power in my palm.

Before long, my [Synthesis] sees completion.

What appeared along with a glittering light was a huge foot covered in mischievous muscle armor.

''Hii!''

It was Remsen who let out a ratty scream.
He pulled a face and slowly hid behind Varal.
 That instructor was also stunned.
His jaw, which was straight at first, gradually raises, and finally he looks up at the ceiling.

Arms like a giant tree (kaina).
Thick horns that curved like lightning.
 Red blazing eyes.

The one that appeared was a sheep demon with a huge, jet-black frame.

''Lasser. What in the world have you done?

Verlal pointed a finger at him, trembling in a small way.
Is he smiling? Or is he fighting?
The corners of his mouth twisted and he looked quite interesting.
Remsen behind him also had a pale face.

''What? I've [synthesized] all the demonic beasts that are here.

"Combine the hexenbiest! And all of us here--

I've never seen or heard of it before!

Varal had such a look on his face.
Remsen also looked like he couldn't understand.
The storm in front of me was just waiting patiently for it to clear.

The name of the monster beast is Sandar.
It's a type of demonic beast that is said to be A-ranked, a demon class.

In front of it, I spread out my hand.

"Now, Priestess........ Would you like to hear my defense?

He smiled with a spare smile.
