4 # 4 Inn, and first meal.

After walking for a while, we saw the signboard of the inn "Silver Moon". The logo of the crescent moon can be seen. It is easy to recognize. It looks like a three-story building. It looked quite solid, made of bricks and wood.
Passing through a double door, you can see a counter on your right and stairs on your left.

Welcome. Do you want to have a meal or do you want to stay the night? Or are you staying the night?

A lady at the counter calls out to me. She's a lively-looking person with a red-haired ponytail that looks good on her. Her age is around 20 years old.

I'd like to ask you to stay the night, how much is it going to cost per night?
We'll give you two coppers for one night, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Oh, you have to pay in advance.

Two copper coins...I can't decide if it's expensive or cheap. Well, I think it's cheaper than a gold coin, but I have no idea how many coppers it takes to get one gold coin.
I took out a gold coin from my wallet and put it on the counter.

How many nights can I stay in this?
How many nights?
Fifty?

Can't you do the math? The sister's eyes hurt. Well, does that mean that one gold coin = a hundred copper coins? With ten gold coins, I can live for 500 days, nearly a year and a half without doing anything? Isn't it quite a lot of money by any chance?

And what do you do?
Well, uh, give me a month's worth.
Here you go. A month. It's been a slow month for me. Thank you for that. I'm running out of silver right now, so I'll just take a copper for the change.

After receiving a gold coin, the lady returned 40 coppers to me for change. 60 coppers were subtracted, that means a month is 30 days here too. Not much has changed.
The lady took out what looked like a ledger from behind the counter, opened it in front of me and held out a quill with ink on it.

Then I'd like you to sign here.
Uh, excuse me. I can't write my own handwriting. Would you mind writing it for me?
'Really? All right. So, what's your name?
'This is Mochizuki. Mochizuki Fuyao.
Mochizuki? That's an unusual name.
'No, my name is Fuyuuya. Mochizuki is my last name... my family name.
'Oh, so your name and your family name are reversed. Were you born Yishen?
Uh... well, sort of.

I don't know where this Eshen thing is, but it's a pain in the ass, so we'll just call it that. I'll check the map later.

So this is the key to our room. "Then this is the key to our room. It's on the third floor, at the end of the hall. It's the sunniest room on the third floor. Bathroom is downstairs. We'll have our meals downstairs. What do you want to do? Do you want lunch?
Oh, please. I haven't had anything to eat since this morning...
Then I'll make you something light. Why don't you go check your room and take a break while you're at it?
I understand.

After receiving the key, I went up the stairs and opened the door to the room at the far end of the third floor. It was a room of about six tatami mats, with a bed, a desk, a chair and a closet. When I opened the front window, I could see the street in front of the inn. It was a pretty good view. Children were excitedly running down the street.
I locked myself in my room and went down the stairs and smelled a nice smell.

'Here you go. Here you go.

When we took our seats in the cafeteria, we were brought what looked like a sandwich, soup, and a salad. The bread was a little hard, but it was satisfying enough and tasty enough for my first taste of the other world. Finished. Well, what do I do now?
I'll be living here for a while from now, so I'd like to see what the town looks like.

I'm going to go for a walk.
"Yes. Have a good day.

The older sister of the innkeeper (Mika, apparently) sees me off and we go out for a walk around the town.
After all, it is a town in another world. Everything I see is unusual and intriguing. She wanders around with her eyes wandering around, and when she sees someone who is suspicious of her, she gets a cold look and corrects her mind, but then she wanders around again and becomes a suspicious person. It's an endless loop. It's not good.
I noticed while watching people walking around town that many of them are carrying weapons. From swords, axes, knives to whips. It may be that this is the common sense of this world though it is dangerous. Should I also buy some weapons?

The first thing I have to do is to find a way to earn money. The first thing we have to do is to find a way to earn money to live in this world.

I didn't think I'd have to start job hunting so soon. Still, I wish I had something I was good at... The subject I'm best at in school is history.... Being well versed in another world's history isn't going to help you.

Hmm?

I wonder. It's noisy. It's off the main street, in a back alley. There's a break in the sound of some sort of argument.

Let's go.

And so I stepped into the back alley.
