3-Episode 2: I was just looking for a job.
Goo.......
No money. No power. But I'm hungry.
I don't know how to get back to my world.
And even if I did find a way back, would I go back to the bottom?
'I don't want to go back. Maybe I'll find a job.
The castle town seemed to be reasonably crowded.
The streets were paved with cobblestones, and the buildings stood in rows.
The people on the street were clearly not Japanese in appearance.
They were adventurers, merchants, and villagers, just like in the games.
In a word, this place was like a medieval European style other world.
It was nothing like the modern Europe I had seen on my business trips abroad.
But what about the language?
I eavesdropped on a conversation between a shopkeeper and a customer in a nearby store.
'Two copper coins are expensive.
'That's the price of an apple. The demons ravaged them.
'Then buy two at once! That's three copper coins. How about this?
'Not enough. I can't give up 4 copper coins. If you buy three, I'll give you five copper coins.
'Uhhh ......, okay, that's what I got!
The words you hear are neither Japanese nor English, but strangely enough you can understand them.
I felt like I could speak it if I wanted to.
However, I could not read the words on the sign.
I could tell from the conversation that it was a fruit and vegetable store. .......
And if two copper coins are expensive for the price of one apple, then it is usually about one copper coin.
That means 1 copper coin = 100 yen.
There were many things I didn't understand, so I walked around solving my questions each time I found something that caught my attention.
'Where can I find a job at ......?
The stores in this area did not seem to employ any employees, and all of them seemed to be private stores.
To open a store, you need money and management know-how.
I've only ever worked as a salaried employee, so I have no idea what to do.
I wish I could find a job where I could do manual labor without being able to read. .......
I'm sure there are places that can help you find a job.
If you don't know what you're doing, it's best to ask someone.
I talked to a couple of men who were parking a carriage nearby.
They looked a little rough, but I found them to be good people with good communication skills.
'Excuse me, sir. I'd like to ask you something.
'What?
Huh!
You don't have to be so scary. .......
I'm just talking to you.
'Do you know of any places around here that can help me get a job?
'Is this your first time in King's Landing?
'Yes, it is. I've been traveling haha ......'
'It looks like there's a daily payment agent coming down here.'
'I see! Thank you very much. Thank you for your help!
I bowed my head and walked toward the direction indicated.
I'm grateful to have met a kind person. If I get paid by the day, I won't starve to death.
'Hey, wait a minute, kid.
'Huh?'
The next thing I know, the guy from before is holding a knife to my neck.
'You're from the Empire, aren't you?
'What about ......?
'Don't get carried away. You're here to make sure that there's a Third Imperial Princess in that carriage!
''What, the Empire? The Third Empress? I didn't know anything about that.
''I was really just in need of work. ......''
'Any royal citizen should know that you can get a job by heading to the guild. The Empire doesn't have enough of a system for that. It's laughable that a spy would dig a grave.'
'No, but wait a minute. If this is a kingdom, then why is the third princess of the empire here? She's an important person, right? Isn't the security too thin ......?''
'Are you still trying to play games with me? I'll tell you something you don't know. As a souvenir of your death. To sell off the third princess.
Human trafficking? And a dignitary? It seems I've gotten mixed up with some terrible people.
But I don't want to die like this.
There's got to be a way...
You know, you've got some skills.
It doesn't matter what it is.
I'll try using the divine protection.
And then--
Kiiiiin!
The knife made a sound as if it had struck metal.
My neck tingled a little, as if the skin had come off.
'What the hell? Huh?
It looks like he managed to save his life.
While the man was in a daze, I used a footwork technique to break his posture - and then I threw him towards the second man who was about to attack him.
'Gyaafu!
'Ghew.'
Both men rolled their eyes and stopped moving. They seemed to be breathing, so they were not dead.
It seems these two are bad guys, which means the Third Princess is a prisoner.
Then we have to save her.
As I search the back of the carriage, I hear a 'mmmmm! I hear a gasp.
'Here it is!
As I rummage through the luggage, I see the figure of a small girl.
She is probably about 15 years old.
She has silky blond hair. Her long hair was mussed up, and her blue eyes were looking at me for help.
She wears a robe like an adventurer, not very princess-like.
And, not that it mattered, her breasts were large.
Such a lovely girl was tied up with ropes around her mouth and hands and feet, and was unable to move.
How could they do such a pitiful thing? .......
I untied the ropes and set the princess free.
'Keho-keho-'
'Are you all right?'
'I'm fine: ....... We need to get out of here. The officials will come.'
'What? Wouldn't it be better to wait until the officials arrive?
'We can't trust the officials. You might end up in trouble too. ......'
I was pulled away from the scene by the princess.
